OK! I just want to let you know that I am not trying to be politically incorrect here all I’m going to talk about is based on my own experience and I’m not bad mouthing one or the other.
I want to make a comparison between wordpress and blogger they’re both very good platforms as far as content management software or scripts, and I should say they’re both free.
The ease of use, which is almost technicality free, just put your content on and save or publish it ba-da-bing ba-da-boom, it’s a done deal!
Also these two wordpress and blogger are widely used for blog purposes or for blogging! Obviously I use a wordpress platform for AlbertHallado.com but I’ve also used blogger in the past so I am qualified to compare the two.
Blogger like what I said it’s very easy to use you login to admin panel (Dashboard) and it’s straight forward you can put your picture, edit your profile, my account, create a blog and so on..
One thing I really like about blogger is the language feature.
You can select a particular language and this is good especially if English is not your native language also if you’re targeting a specific audience.
So blogger is really a good start for beginners or just to get your feet wet on how to start blogging, and if your budget is tight, blogger is free.
The downside, now this is just me ok! I am not trying to invite an argument here! In spite of all the good stuff about blogger, blogger is not yours it is owned by Google.
I don’t care who says what but in order for you to be successful either personal, business or online and offline you have to be in control.
Yes! You must be in the driver seat steering the wheel where you want it to go, you call the shots.
At the time when I was using blogger you couldn’t install it on your own server I don’t know now if you’re able to now.
But I am very big in branding and I wanted all the control as far as my online business that’s why I turned it to wordpress and this is what I found out and why I am using it to this day!
Wordpress! Man! Just by mentioning the name gets me excited.
Like blogger, wordpress is very easy to use too, they have all the basic functions when you login to your dashboard it’s pretty much self explanatory write a post, you have your comments, plugin’s, design and so on…
If you’re using wordpress you can relate to what I’m talking about.
But what sets wordpress apart from other content management software is you can actually install it on your own server and it gives you the control you need.
As far as the structure of your blog, the themes, look and feel, varieties of widgets, and plugins to utilize your search engine optimization (SEO).
This is very important and I am a living testimony that it works.
OH! By the way it’s all for free too! Really what I like the most about using wordpress is having control of everything and my favorite is the themes (templates).
You can find a pretty good design and the installation is just a click of a mouse also many of these themes are for free and some of them you get the rights to customize it.
As I said earlier that I am very big when it comes to branding I am a graphics designer and this gives something to play or mess around with which I love doing.
Of course I can’t list all the good stuff about wordpress here I’m pretty sure I missed a lot but I think you get the idea and my point on having full control of your blog or for some your business.
Well the bad side of wordpress is the installation for some of you will find this a little tricky, especially for newbies and begginers but if you go to wordpress.org you can get detailed instructions.
If you find it confusing well you can hire me to install it for you "just kidding" Ha! Ha! I am pretty sure you will be able to install it your self.
But overall my conclusion is wordpress is the way to go for me for what I need and for the niche that I’m in also wordpress is constantly updating their software for more great benefits and features that will only make it more powerful either for personal or business.
OH! Again I want to remind you that I am using wordpress for this blog and this blog is generating a full time income for me (Hint! Hint!)
