Please Note: If you consider me your friend I want to ask you a favor, please participate in today’s post so it will be more interactive.
More and more now I get asked "Albert, what do you do for a living?" I guess people are getting more curious since they see me all the time here in our neighborhood, in church…
And even this particular person that told me a few years ago that this internet thing is NOT going to work, it’s nothing but a scam and I should get a real job in "Construction.”
Well I simply tell people that I am a full time blogger and I blog about the things that I love and am passionate about which is helping people with their business.
I am not surprised that many people will say, “Huh? What did you say? "Blog" is that some kind of food or what?”
Many times it really catches me off guard and I don’t know how to explain it in a way they can understand so here’s what I tell people about a blog.
A blog is like a gossip queen that spreads the words for you on whatever you’re blogging about. It’s like word of mouth on steroids! That’s exactly what it is "Word of mouth on steroids" and I’ll tell you why!
Let’s say you have a local business or a mom and pop’s shop and you have a network of clients of 5,000 and you need to reach these folks because you’re running a promotion, so what do you do?
You send out a post card, call each and every one of them, that would be tons of work right? But with blogging you can do all this in a matter of minutes or hours.
The moment you post on your blog it will ping the search engines, ping your RSS subscribers and if you have a third party autoresponder you can send the message to that list too.
So it’s just a matter of hours and you deliver the message to your market, now that’s power! That’s why I always preach that you have to have a blog if you’re running a business, it’s a necessity.
Your blog will spread the word for you, your brand will be recognized, it will create a buzz for your products and services and the best part is it will let you connect with your market to build a solid relationship and this is one key to business success.
Your blog even connects you to big name people out there and the best part is it will connect you to get acquainted with new friends that could be friends for life.
Like I got connected with Joe Sugarman, Robert Allen, and Mark Hansen and my now friends for life John Delavera, Edwin Green, Troy Williams, Duane Hope and many, many, more!
And in business or in life it’s not who you know, it’s who knows you because they’re the ones who will talk about you and spread the word for you. Remember to this day the "word of mouth" is still the best advertising and the great thing about it is it’s "FREE"
That’s why I think a blog is the biggest gossip queen and word of mouth on steroids because it does all this for you (in the good way). But I wanted to ask you my friends,
“What is a blog to you?”
Please let me know and post it… Please!
I want to know, really! So like I asked you I need your participation in this post! OK! Folks I hope I shared some good ideas with you so you can do the same… take care and love you guys!
Till Next Time and God Bless You!
Albert Hallado

Hi Albert,
That was good! Especially the parts about “word of mouth on steroids” and “not who you know but who knows you”.
A blog is a powerful social tool that if used properly and wisely can connect you with the rest of the world through trust.
Thanks again Albert for a great post!
Blessings – Duane

Thanks for giving the heads start. Online marketers need to be aware that blogs should be used as an important part of the overall marketing mix for an online business.

Yo!,
Hey Bud thank you for your comment and I appreciate you drop by!
Take care!

Thank you, Albert for your steady flow of keen insight.
I think that a blog just may be the most powerful communication tool in existence. Essentially, what you have here is a doorway into another dimension. Up til now, websites were a one-way form of communication. If you think about it, a blog has created a means of contacting anybody in the world who has an internet connection. And the best part is that it is a two-way conversation.
You send out a message, or a string of random thoughts, and anyone who is tuned into your page has the opportunity to respond by commenting. And the great thing is, the commenter has started a thread, and others can comment on the comment. This is how the conversation starts and helps to explain how something like a “Twitter” can exist, and thrive!
Hey! Mr. Mark,
I am really glad you stop by and thank you so much for the great comment! Yeah! blogging is really powerful stuff!
Again thank you Mark!
Love you Bro.

Albert now you know me I don’t like taking drugs like steroids but the blog is a very essential method to reach the people in ways that no other method can.
You can express yourself from the heart and that’s what connects to the customers, buyers or friends on your list.
I have said this time and time again you have to gain trust and they have to know you on a personal level before they open the wallet as most people that build websites don’t understand this very important method.
You don’t just show a product and push it down their throat and expect them to buy before they know you personally.
By the way that’s one reason why a lot of online businesses have a lot of refunds and charge backs because the trust was not there either from the site or the product or service to start they need to be more educated and I have found the more personal touch stops all that dead in its tracks.
As we have discussed branding yourself is a very good method. Many people don’t know about the power of blogging to this day and when they do learn about it they will understand that they will have the power to connect to the audience
they are looking for and you know as well as I do when you write your thoughts down it becomes more a reality and blogging to me is like a diary that all can share and learn from.
I firmly believe that when you have good content you want to share with the world blogging is the way to do that fast and effective.
God Bless
Troy
