Lately I was observing my blog about replying and NOT replying to anyone comment on my blog and as you may know I am a test freak and I analyze everything and I’m not for "Theory" when it comes to marketing and business strategy, I want facts based on what really works period.
I don’t waste my time on something that not gonna work! I ran a test on responding and not responding on my blog comment and here’s what I found out: I got more traffic by replying to all the people that comment on my blog and here’s why.
When you reply to someone who comments on your blog you make an immediate direct connection with them and they’ll feel special and will be grateful.
The fact that they took the time to comment on your blog means they express their feelings or point of view about your post so by replying back to what they say will make them feel like it’s worth posting a comment every time you have a new post.
Also by replying to a comment on your blog gives you instant credibility and they will feel more comfortable commenting on your blog again and again because they know that they’ll get an answer whether they’re just saying hi or if they have a question about your post.
Blogging is a kind of communication tool and it is a very powerful tool for business and when your blogging your opening a conversation with your readership.
When you don’t reply I think it’s NOT a good practice and your readers will not post a comment again because It’s like knocking on your friends door and you know their inside the house but don’t want to open the door for you. Well at least for some this is what it feels like.
Another great thing about responding to comments on your blog is you actually keep the thread going and keep the momentum going everyone is excited and pumped because your with them participating and when you don’t they’ll feel like you droped the ball on your end and that’s not a good business practice.
When you blog you actually have a responsibility to your readership and members. By responding to comments on your blog it will drive more traffic because your readers that left a comment will now have a reason to come back to your blog to see what you have to say on their comment.
Also this is a great way to know more about your readership. It’s very important to know your market so you know what they need and know what to sell to them.
Lastly by responding to comments on your blog is a great way to establish a long term relationship with your readership and members and this will result into loyalty and TRUST so when you try to sell them your new launch product they will not hesitate to buy from you.
Also with an established solid relationship with your readers it will cause a domino effect meaning they will spread the word for you and just in case you didn’t know "Word Of Mouth" is still the best advertising out there either online or offline.
So when your readers spread the word for you this means more traffic to your blog, more referrals, more clicks and more sales! So please try to respond to every comment on your blog as soon as possible!
Just by replying to your readers you’ll get all the advantages and this is really not hard you simply tell them thank you for stopping by and for their comment and say take care that’s it, takes less than a minute you know?
This is very small stuff but it creates a huge impact with your blog and business. That’s why you need to make this a habit and eventually you’ll see an increase in your traffic and sales. Again all this is based on my own experience and NOT just a sound great "Theory".
That’s it and feel free to comment! (Don’t be Shy!) also when you comment and you have URL to your site it will show on the sidebar of this blog and guess what you’ll get some of my traffic!
Please do me a huge favor if you know anyone that can benefit from this information please forward this post by using the SHARE THIS below, I’ll promise you they’ll thank you for it!
Till Next Time and God Bless You!

Hi Albert
Thanks for sharing your experiences/testing.
It makes sense that if you interact with the people who comment on your blog you become a real person to them. Hence more credible.
Great post
Jim
Hi Jim,
Yes! Jim this is one thing I’ve noticed and most of the time they’ll come back to your blog to see what you have to say, Anyways I appreciate your comment.
Albert
It stands to reason doesn’t it?
Really, if you don’t want to reply why have a blog at all? I think of them as conversations
What I like in particular Albert is that although you believe in replying you took the time to test it rather than being content with a belief.
Was it a big difference in traffic? I don’t wish to pry into exact numbers – but how big an effect did you notice?
All The Best!
Alex
Hi Alex,
>>>Really, if you don’t want to reply why have a blog at all? Yes I totally agree! because eventually your readers will get tired of just commenting on your blog and not getting back from you it’s like talking to a wall right!
About the traffic it’s actually noticeable and readers stay on your page longer!
BTW: Thank you as always!
Albert
It looks to me like you are testing to see what google will do when it crawls your page and sees the word blog enboldened.
Hi Leo,
Well that’s part of it, Hey Thank you for stopping by Leo.
Albert
Albert,
While I agree, to an extent, with what you’re saying here, I believe a bit of selectivity is in order.
I reply only to those comments that are relevant to the post or that bring up some new aspect of the post, i.e., become an extension or addendum to the post.
I don’t reply to comments that simply acknowledge the post. While many are legitimate, just voicing agreement and nothing more, most are there only for a possible link back to their territory. There’s no relationship to build in either case. Oh, you might get a response from one of the first group, but since they had noting to contribute the first time, it’s doubtful they’ll follow responses.
So, I respond to the folk who have something to say, good, bad, or indifferent. At least they were motivated by the post enough to say something other than, “Nice post,” and are thus likely to be worth cultivating.
Hey, I’d rather have someone intelligently pan my post than just say it’s nice. At least the person attacking took the time to read and [possibly mis]understand it. If they’re willing to spend that much time on me, it’s worth a bit of my time to respond and possible build a conversation.
Hi Barney,
Great point, bottom line when you reply to a comment on your blog you gain all the advantage in a long run, But of course this is just based in my on experience maybe others have different result than me. Hey I appreciate your comment and thank you for stopping by.
Albert
GREAT post albert!
i try to reply to EVERY single comment that people submit on my blog. it’s definitely helped a lot & people really appreciate it.
great job reminding us that it’s about connecting & building relationships.
Hi Alejandro,
Yo! I’m glad to see you here Bro.
Albert
Hi Albert,
Thanks for sharing your testing with us. Your results make sense, I’m just not sure I want to reply to every comment.
Like Barney I wonder if I should comment on every little comment with a “thanks for visiting”, or only respond to those who have a question.
I wonder if people who leave little comments will ever return to see their comment has been responded to.
Something I will have to think about.
Mike
Hi Mike,
Hey! glad to see you here again, Yeah! you know majority of people comment on my blog become a friend of mine so even they just say "Hi" I still respond to them and say hi back, it take few minutes right! But My point is people will see you that your replying back as much as you can and that would encourage them to participate that’s why I said you’ll gain all the advantage in a long run.
Albert
Albert … you are Just Too Nice Sometimes I think.
I know what you mean though it’s about letting people know you really do appreciate them taking the time to post, even if it is just to say “Nice Post”.
If they never return so be it, your next visitor will see that you care and maybe they will be the one who returns and makes a purchase of one of your products.
Keep up the Great Work Buddy!

Hi Ed,
Thanks Ed’ your right on the money:
“If they never return so be it, your next visitor will see that you care and maybe they will be the one who returns and makes a purchase of one of your products.”
This is exactly what I’m talking about Ed “SO BE IT” well atleast I did what I have to do as a blogger. you know successful blog comes with responsibility.
Also too! you have to remember your post stay on your blog and many will find it on your archive or search engine and when your visitor see this it give you plus as far as cridibility is concern and that’s initiate in building TRUST with out it people wil NOT buy from you period.
You know Ed many people email me about this post some people and friends agreed and some don’t and I respect that completely. you have to implement what works for you and your blog.
But this is my blog and this is what works for me and this is how I’m going to run my show. I look at the big picture and be positive about it. I look at a glass of water half way full instead of half way empty.
So your very right Ed “SO BE IT” atleast I did my best while your here on my blog and make you feel welcome, Also I believe in giving with out asking anything in return.
That’s why people buy from me I think!
Ed I second the motion with your offer my readers need to check this out:

I absolutely agree with you. If someone takes the time to comment on a post I believe it is polite to reply. People like to be noticed and if you make someone feel like they are an important part of your blogging business, you stand to have a loyal customer or follower.

Hi Lorrette,
Thank you! and I am glad to see you here again and Yes! people feel special and welcome even when you just say “Hi” to them.
Albert
Albert,
I agree 100%. The purpose of a blog is to encourage interactivity. Sure there are unscrupulous people who will comment just to get a link back, but if you noticed by default, WordPress has a No-follow link on the comment page so really, there is no harm in just saying “great post”.
If you have the plugin to undo the no-follow page to give link love, than I can see the point just someone saying “great post”.
Also remember, before most comments are shown, it has to be approve by the administrator. For the most part, this weeds out many of the would-be spammers from coming in and commenting by leaving one liners.
I also noticed a that someone commented on embolding the word “blog”. Even if you would have done this 1000 times over, there would be no effect.
Besides,I’ve known Albert back when we started doing this 5 or 6 years ago, and I don’t think he’s that desperate to get “slapped” for something that silly. I would probably expect Albert, that you rank on page one for Google on many, many other terms than just for an untargeted word “blog” just by doing a simple check on your short stat readout.
I believe Albert means is that it would be nice to get some us (myself included) to get involved. By getting involved, we would be more apt to do the same on our own blog…ouch!
Good post all around Albert. I hope that I can be as consistent as you are in the coming months. With the way that this economy is going, it may be the only thing that I’ll be able to fallback on if something should happen to my job!
See ya when I get back from Hawaii Albert,
