Make Money Blogging

I get asked this question NOW a lot! "Is Blogging Easy Or Hard?" I guess it has to do with the economy; people want to start their own blog so they can make money blogging! OK! I will answer this question in two different ways, so here we go;

If you’re going to start blogging because you just want to make a quick buck and you’re motivated to be the next millionaire in a few days well I will tell you right NOW, in your dreams that will happen!… It will be really hard for you and probably you will get frustrated and give up!

For many people this is the case if they don’t see money in a couple of months they’ll give up and the sad part is they don’t know that they might be 3 feet away from gold. Now! If you’re going to start blogging in a mindset that "I can do this"

And have a plan that I will do what I am passionate about, I will provide quality rich content; I will help people in my market in any way possible then blogging is going to be easy and fun to you. OH! I forgot you will make money too!

You know what they say right? "Do What You Love and The Money Will Follow" and this is very true I am a living testament to this and to all of my readers. You guys see me from when I started until to this day and you are my witness to my progress right?

OK! It may sound like there’s lot of hard work to blogging but I will tell you right NOW! and I will be honest and sincere to you YES! there’s plenty of hard work but it pays off big time, NOT just in monetary terms,

But in knowing that I am not part of any recession/depression or that someone will fire me and being able to sleep at night peacefully is priceless. I know hard work pays off I found this out early growing up.

Let me tell you a story, well it’s a TRUE to life story of me on how I found out that "Hard work Pays Off" When I was just 12 years old I was really crazy about this BMX bike and back home in the Philippines this is the trend for kids my age.

You see these bikes everywhere in my neighborhood, at school, parks where they do all these jumps, wheelies and tricks. Back home BMX bikes, I remember is very expensive.

Here’s the thing, my parents back then are doing really well financially and I know I could just simply ask my mom or dad for it and they will give it to me. As a matter of fact before I even asked for it they gave it to me because they know I wanted a bike.

But here’s the problem they bought me a bike but it wasn’t a BMX bike and the bike looked really funny, I mean kids my age were laughing at me because I can’t even do a wheelie on this bike!

I don’t want to tell my parents because I don’t want to hurt their feelings. So I came up with a plan and here’s the plan I could give my ugly duckling bike to my cousin as a Christmas present because she likes it and my little brother he’s too little to ride a bike yet,

And then I will buy myself a top of the line BMX bike I mean with all the bling, bling you know kind of like those "Pimp My Ride" thing! I wanted alloy rims and the body so it will be light to do all the tricks.

Also I wanted a red color and some flame designs on the body, see I have a great taste you know? But here’s the problem I don’t want to ask my parents for some money because they’ll find out that I didn’t like the bike that they bought for me.

So I needed to raise some money and I only have two weeks to do it because it’s Christmas vacation and I wanted to have it when I get back to school I will have some bling bling BMX bike you know how that thing goes when you were a kid right?

I was thinking and thinking on what I needed to do to raise money! Anyways all my friends were outside playing basketball so I said I will just think later on about what I’m gonna do.

After playing basketball I went to my grandma’s house on the other side of the subdivision (all my relatives are living in the same neighborhood) yeah! Almost the whole entire subdivision are my relatives that’s how it is back home family sticks together!

On my way to my grandmas I saw this kid with fire crackers and fireworks (these are big back home especially during Christmas and New Year’s eve!) I asked the kid “Hey! where did you get that?” he said, “I bought it in that guys house” and pointed to the house that my grandma was renting out.

It’s a tiny house like an apartment so I went there and knocked on the door and this very skinny guy answered, his name is Jun, short for Junior, I asked him if he still has some of that fireworks stuff and he said, “Yes come in and look”

So I went in the house and I was like holy cow! There was like a warehouse of fireworks. By the way back then it’s legal to sell because in the Philippines this is part of our tradition I don’t know now a day’s though!

Then the guy asked me if I wanted to buy some and I said NO! but I wanted to help you sell it if you agree to give me a portion and he agreed he said 50/50 and better yet it’s on consignment. I don’t have to pay up front you see I had entrepreneurship in me even way back then :)

Here’s what I did; I went and got my backpack and filled it with fireworks and I rode my ugly duckling bike to go around the neighborhood and I started selling it to all my friends and relatives.

I showed them some samples and I took orders some paid me up front and others said when I get back with their orders they’ll pay. Most of my relatives (auntie & uncle) bought but some they were kind of giving me a hard time,

But I was a cute little boy so I’ll just beg and give them a hug and kiss and they’ll buy, talking about relationship marketing. I did this for the most part of my 2 weeks Christmas vacation.

While kids my age were playing and firing up some fireworks I was working really hard to make some money for my BMX bike. So before my vacation was over I had all the money I needed plus more YES! more than I needed for a BMX bike.

The first thing I did is get rid of my ugly duckling bike, I went to my cousin’s house and put a bow on the bike and surprised my cousin and she was so happy and believe me I was too!

Then we went to the bike store this is really getting me excited even now that I remember, when I got to the store Man! it’s like heaven, it felt like going to the Mercedes Benz dealership :)

As I said earlier I wanted it to be red but I changed my mind when I saw this all chrome talk about some bling bling! and the bike it’s so light I was thinking I can make this thing fly when I do all my tricks :)

But geez this bike it’s soooo!! extensive OH! I mean expensive I think it was 2,000 Pesos yeah! NOT dollars but guess what I counted my money and paid cash "That’s What I’m Talking About!" and everyone was just Shocked!

I mean for a little boy having all that money! So I went home with my new bike and everyone in the neighborhood was like WOW! that’s one good looking bike Albert and I simply reply YUP! it’s mine I bought it thank you! :)

That night I couldn’t sleep I was staring at my bike I was thinking when I get back to my school everyone is gonna be checkin’ out my new bike! But one thing I learned is you can get what you want if you set a plan, goal and be persistent (Hard work) to achieve it.

I’ve proven this to myself many times over and over again; hard works pays off like what I said earlier while every kid my age was having fun playing and running around I was busy working and sacrificing my time so I can raise money for my dream bike,

But guess what? I did it and I had that bike for 3 years so I had the attention of the crowd for 3 long years because I had the coolest bike in the neighborhood. Well the moral here is whether it’s blogging or in life if you want something well do something about it!

Believe me you will get it! So blogging it’s a little hard in the beginning but like what I said it will pay off and you will harvest the fruit of your labor! It’s like when I was just starting out everyone was telling me that what I’m doing it’s not gonna work, even my own family!

But I just kept my head straight and focused and just worked hard, I mean really hard. Sometimes I wouldn’t go to sleep at all working on my blog then it’s time for me to go to work when I still had my 9-5 day job.

Once again it did pay off NOW! I am making a living blogging! I just knew that I was just 3 feet from the gold so folks don’t give up, sometimes it seems really hard and tough but your gold is just 3 feet away. So my conclusion is Blogging is hard!:)

But one day it will pay off! Agree Or Disagree- well let me know and comment!

That’s it and feel free to comment! (Don’t be Shy!) also when you comment and you have URL to your site it will show on the sidebar of this blog and guess what you’ll get some of my traffic!

Please do me a huge favor if you know anyone that can benefit from this information please forward this post by using the SHARE THIS below, I’ll promise you they’ll thank you for it!

Till Next Time and God Bless You!

    Very encouraging!

  • Hi Albert
Who said any thing is easy, if you want something you have to focus your mind first. That is what you did to get your bike when you were a boy. Keep up the good work you will get there in the end, it all starts with focus.

  • Albert how come you only had the bike for 3 years? You get tired of stuff quick huh? ;-)

    Just kidding buddy!

Your right Albert, setting a Goal and working hard toward it Always Pays Off In The Long Run! When I am doing a One-On-One with one of my subscribers I always start out with defining their Main Goal first and helping them understand that this is what they need to work toward.

And once you set a goal, don’t give up till you reach it! Hey Albert I’m waiting for another Video post from you. hint…hint

  • Hi Albert …

Thank you for sharing your success story! I really enjoyed reading it and it really maked the lesson stick! You are so right many people quit too soon and pursue goals for the wrong reason.

As long as someone follows their passion it will be so much easier to stick to it when the going gets rough. There are too many “effortless wealth” stories out there and I am so glad you provide honest information to your readers!

    Have an Awesome Day!

  • Hi Albert,

Another great story! The "3 feet from the gold" comment was…well gold. This business can get frustrating at times, but remembering that you are getting closer to the gold with each productive action can be enough to keep you going.

    • Yep, amen to that Bro. Mike! Like what I said on my first comment post sometimes myself I need to be reminded about this as well.

  • Very thought provoking blog about working hard and writing about what you are interested in. That smart individual who coined the phrase “do what you have passion for and the money will follow”, certainly knew of what he spoke. Work is work if it is work. When we do what is enjoyable it doesn’t appear like work, even though we may spend 40 to 60 hours each week doing it. Nothing replaces work, determination, planning, and execution, with maybe the exception of winning the lottery. At the odds of 1 in 14,000,000 to win, I think I’ll stick to the tried and proven methods.
Thank you Albert for reminding me and keeping us all focused on how to realistically reach our financial goals.
