The Power Of Networking

In today’s post I want to talk about “The Power of Networking.” Social media and networking has become a buzzword on the internet and even offline over the last several years.

You probably know this already because it’s really hard to ignore the popularity of all these social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and so on…

Well my goal in this post is to let you know that part of my success in my business has to do with my network and friends that I collaborate or share ideas with. But I think the real power of networking goes beyond that especially if you build a solid relationship with your network.

Just for example; I have plenty of friends that I have a great relationship with that was developed either by doing business with them or they’re my clients and from there we just became really great friends.

If you build a relationship with your network it becomes powerful because they will help you in anyway with whatever you’re having a problem with. So to show you this in perspective I asked a few friends and my network a question.

Now the question is just an example but it represents the urgency and the worst case scenario so either with a business or in life you can see the real power of having a network and friends that are behind you and will help and support you.

Here’s what I asked them:

Question:

What if I lost everything? I mean everything, and I called you on the pay phone and said, “I need your help I lost everything and I have my family here out in the cold with me and I was wondering if you could help me out?

This is what they had to say…

Hi Albert,

First of all I need to say that I do think I know you well, thus that scenario won’t ever happen – since you are a warrior in life.

But if that would ever happen and I had to answer your question then I’d ask you to tell me what is the closest hotel to where you are.

I would then contact the hotel and make a reservation for you and your family for the days I’d cover. Then I’d arrange an event online in order to help you stand up on your feet fast.

It’d then be a matter of some days to see you back online. :)

Hello Albert,

Where are you and what’s the best way for me to help? We’ve developed a strong working relationship over the past few months and I feel very motivated to help you do whatever I can to take care of you and your family.

I know you are a winner and a hard worker, and I know it won’t take you very long to get back on your feet.

Hi Albert,

“Sure thing Albert… Let me know where you are and I’ll swing by and pick you up!

The first thing we would do is grab some food and bring it back to my house.

Next I would assure you and your family that everything was going to be ok and remind you of all your successes in life as well as obstacles you’ve overcome.

Once we established the mindset that this situation was only temporary, we would begin to focus on making things happen!
We would jump on the computer and put together a game plan to get everything back on track.

This game plan would consist of making a list of all your skills and assists: web design, Internet marketing, building successful online businesses, your database, working in the casino industry etc.

After this was complete, we would make a list of everyone we know and what resources they have such as business contacts, companies they work for etc.

Once we identified our contacts with the greatest spheres of influence we could make some big things happen! By combining the relationships we have built over the years and your skills/assets, it’s only a matter of time before you are back on top!

Opportunities would present themselves: Joint ventures, consulting work, resources to build a business, and even job openings to hold you over. The last step in this process is to take action by sending emails and making phone calls to get things rolling.

The best part of all is that you are not alone. You have your personal network and the individuals in your network can leverage those in their network for support ….

So the key is to realize that your network reaches far beyond only the people you know!”.

Hi Albert,

That’s a “no brainer” question to me and my family. You and your family are like family to us and there would be no hesitation in our decisions.

Here’s what we would do….

1) Immediately send you money to feed, cloth and shelter your family.

2) Stop whatever I’m doing and invest time with you figuring out a 30, 60 and 90 day game plan to help get you guys back on your feet.

3) Open our home up and invite you in to stay until you guys were back on your feet.

Blessing,

Hi Albert,

Well I gave it 2 seconds thought and the first thing I’d do would be to get you cash immediately – wire – whatever and to reserve a hotel room in your name that you could check into immediately.

Then I would contact the couple people I do know in Las Vegas – and ask them to help you – and try to figure out whom else I know in the area.

Of course, I’d want to know what YOU needed and try to meet that need as soon as possible.

As soon as possible I would send an email to my list(s) as well as trip up on Facebook and Twitter and my personal contacts to beat the bushes to get cash coming into a paypal account or to get people to send you $ by the best means necessary and I’d hit ‘em all more than once.

If you are not injured – and do have access to get to a computer and work – I’d beat up anyone I know to hire you to do your graphics and blogging stuff.

If any of your products are available – I’d try to add in to any communication that they should buy them just to get you money.

And, of course, I’d pray for you and your family, and try to help you as best I could.

Geez – let’s hope nothing like this ever happens to you or anyone we know.

Hi Albert,

I’d tell you to go see my Uncle right away, there in Las Vegas. He’ll provide you immediately with a room, shower and warm bed for the wife and kids while you get your feet back on the ground.

I mean, You can’t think with on an empty stomach and shivering in your shoes, right?

Then, we’d brainstorm to find out how you can get access to your servers again so you can fire up your internet blog HOWITZERS to bring home the bacon! (Of course I would pray with you but after all, faith without works is dead, right?)

Hi Albert,

“Are you able to get to my house and come stay here for a few days while you figure things out.”

and if not, where are you – I know a ton of people in the world, let me see if I can extend a bedroom for you Oh yeah, you’re in Vegas.

Okay – I have a buddy with a 4 bedroom house there. He lives with just himself and his girlfriend. He owes me *HUGE* favors. I’ll call him right now and tell him to let you crash there for a few days.

now, what the hell happened dude? do you still have your computer? do you still have your list? do you need access to the internet or something?

let’s see what pieces of the puzzle you have still & see what we can put together to get you at least surviving again; otherwise what’s your skillset – I’ll see if I can get you some immediate cash with a project or a job or something and where are you other friends?

I mean – no offense – but we’re not _that_ close. You must have people that are closer to you than I am. Why aren’t your other friends offering you a place to crash at least?

Hi Albert,

My good friend Albert has taught me the power of the social network. If he were faced with a crises like that, of course I would absolutely do everything in my power to help him get back on his feet.

I would offer him my house, my car, and the shirt off my back because the things he has taught me are worth way more than any of those.

But, the biggest thing I learned from him gives me faith that if anything like that would ever happen, he would only have to send out an S.O.S to the list.

The power of the network is so vast and blogging makes it so easy to reach out and engage. The list is like one huge extended family.

I was once told that no man is more than 6 handshakes away from the president of the United States. What that means is that everybody knows somebody who knows somebody, who knows somebody, etc…that knows the president.

I totally believe this, especially after witnessing the power of the blogosphere, first hand. When Albert’s blog can reach people like Robert G. Allen and Victor Mark Hansen, you know that there are no limits to this thing.

So, once you have studied what Albert teaches, there should never be any reason to worry. You totally trust the network and realize we are all connected. If you were to lose it all, physically, it could all be reset virtually.

Because it really isn’t a matter of resources. Its all about resourcefulness. If he had the resourcefulness to set it up once and it were knocked down.

He would have the resourcefulness to set it up again. That, especially with the help of a few thousand followers.
Blessings, my friend. See you on Twitter.

Hi Albert,

I’m really sorry to hear of your situation. If I were living in the US, I would offer to take you and the family into my home to stay temporarily until you got on your feet again.

I know you as a resourceful man and I am confident that you can start over quickly. Unfortunately I am in another country and I don’t have resources to help you financially.

But what I can do is put you in touch with some of my friends in your area, and I am sure that at least one of them will be able to help you out.”

Have a great day :)

Hi Albert,

Hey Albert Bro. you know I will help you and your family in any way I can…

Simon Leung

As you’ve just read almost everyone was willing to help me to get back on my feet and these are just a few friends of mine. See the power right? Rather than solving your problem by yourself you have a network of friends that are willing to help.

One thing I’ve learned from my very great friend John Delavera he told me once and I will never forget it is he said, “Albert whatever the problem you have big or small don’t worry about it, remember there’s always a solution and you can always ask for help.”

And this also reminds me about my Dad he always tells me that you can’t be successful by yourself it’s impossible and he always says this quote, “No Man is an Island.” Right there says it all.

So my point is networking is powerful and should not be looked at as a one shot deal or one night stand but you should build your network of friends and build solid relationships that will last forever… Remember business is about building relationships.

As long as you have all these friends around you then you’ll always be successful in your business, “Mark My Words.” Well I hope this helps and it makes sense to you and will serve as inspiration so you too can start building your “Untouchable powerful network.” Take care and love you guys.
